Service Dog Training Support
This is an owner-trained service dog coaching program that supports individuals with one or more disabilities in training their own service dog.
Behav-N-Dogs offers personalized, owner-trained service dog coaching for individuals with disabilities. This supportive program empowers handlers to confidently teach their dog customized tasks designed to mitigate their unique needs and enhance daily independence.
Rachael Haddan, expert trainer and owner of Behav-N-Dogs, has successfully coached individuals and families in training service dogs to perform a wide range of essential tasks, including:
-
Retrieval of dropped or lost items.
-
Opening and closing doors.
-
Providing stability support for owners with balance issues.
-
Interrupting anxious behaviors.
-
Delivering deep pressure therapy for anxiety or PTSD symptoms.
-
Guiding owners back to a car, home, or safe location for those with memory challenges.
-
Mastering public access manners.
-
Detecting high or low blood sugar levels.
Please note: This list is not exhaustive. If you require assistance with a specific service dog task not listed above, please contact Behav-N-Dogs Trainer Rachael Haddan to discuss how she may be able to support your individual needs.
Important considerations: Behav-N-Dogs does not currently offer board-and-train services for service dogs. All participating dogs must demonstrate a stable temperament and suitability for service work to ensure safe, ethical, and effective training.
