Behav-N-Dogs, led by certified professional dog trainer Rachael Haddan, provides individualized dog behavior modification training for families in Pueblo County and surrounding areas. Each behavior plan is thoughtfully customized to support your dog’s emotional well-being while empowering you with clear, practical training strategies.
Rachael evaluates your dog’s behavior history, environment, and triggers to create a structured, evidence-based plan using:
-
Positive reinforcement training
-
Incompatible replacement behaviors
-
Counter-conditioning and desensitization
-
Science-backed learning games that build confidence and calm
Our goal is not just to reduce unwanted behavior—but to help your dog feel safer, more relaxed, and better understood, while giving you the tools to confidently support your dog every day.
Medication Support & Veterinary Collaboration
In some cases, behavior modification is most effective when paired with medical support. If Rachael believes your dog may benefit from medication for anxiety, fear, or reactivity, she will recommend consulting your veterinarian. Your vet may then prescribe appropriate medication or refer you to a veterinary behaviorist when needed. Training and medical support can work together to create meaningful, lasting change.

Behavior Modification Success Story
In Loving Memory of Ozzie
The Story of Two Pals
Here is a story of success Behav-N-Dogs loves to highlight for successful behavior modification.
Kevin and Jen had built a Bulldog family with their male, Brodie, and two sisters, Sophie and Abbi. On July 21, 2019, they welcomed home Ozzie, a sweet Bully mix. At first, Ozzie and Brodie didn’t see eye to eye. Tension ran high, and that’s when Kevin and Jen began exploring training and behavior-modification options.
After several consultations, they chose Behav-N-Dogs—and it proved to be a life-changing decision.
Over the following months, Trainer Rachael Haddan of Behav-N-Dogs worked closely with the family to design a plan rooted in science-based, positive-reinforcement training. With more than a decade of professional experience, certification as a Dog Training Instructor, and a background in behavior modification, Rachael brought both expertise and compassion to the process.
She introduced customized behavior-modification protocols specifically tailored to Ozzie and Brodie’s relationship. These included practical management strategies, structured training exercises, and fun but purposeful behavior games designed to channel energy into bonding rather than conflict. Through consistent coaching, clear communication, and ongoing support, Kevin and Jen felt equipped and empowered to guide their dogs with confidence.
The results were remarkable. Ozzie and Brodie, once rivals, grew into true pals. Kevin and Jen shared joyful updates for years as the two became inseparable—even curling up together to sleep. Their transformation is a shining example of how expert guidance combined with dedication at home can turn conflict into harmony.
Rachael feels deeply honored to have been part of this journey, witnessing firsthand how personalized, fear-free training builds trust, strengthens relationships, and creates lifelong companionship.
The family’s story didn’t stop there. On July 20, 2024, they added Maddie, another Bulldog, to their home. Once again, Behav-N-Dogs was called to assist, this time with introductions. Using the same proven principles of structured guidance and positive reinforcement, Rachael ensured that Maddie’s arrival was smooth and stress-free. Soon, Ozzie, Brodie, and Maddie became one big, happy group of pals.
Sadly, on January 17, 2025, Ozzie passed away, likely from an underlying heart condition. His loss was sudden and deeply felt. Yet his memory lives on through the joy he brought to his family, the bond he shared with his pals, and the love he gave so freely.
Run free, sweet Ozzie.
Ozzie will forever be remembered as the pal who turned conflict into companionship, leaving pawprints not only on Kevin and Jen’s hearts, but also on Rachael’s. Kevin and Jen continue to share their home with Brodie and Maddie, who remain the closest of pals.
At Behav-N-Dogs, stories like Ozzie’s are at the heart of what we do—helping families overcome challenges, restore peace, and build lasting bonds through compassionate, evidence-based training. Every success reminds us why we dedicate ourselves to this work: because every dog deserves the chance to thrive, and every family deserves the joy of harmony.
