Individual Coaching Sessions
Our Individual Coaching Sessions are ideal for owners ready to begin training their dog with engaging, evidence-based methods. Through fun, interactive games, dogs learn to enthusiastically follow cues, which significantly strengthens the owner-dog bond. These sessions also provide a great introduction to Behav-N-Dogs' unique training approach.

Puppy Course
For puppies as young as 8 weeks of age

Behav-N-Dogs offers a rewarding, fun, and evidence-based puppy training program designed for puppies as young as 8 weeks old and up to age 4 months. Our proven curriculum covers essential areas to ensure your puppy develops into a well-mannered companion:

Appropriate Chewing: Guiding your puppy on what to chew and what to avoid.

Early Problem Correction: Addressing potential behavioral issues before they become bad habits.

Potty Training: Establishing consistent and reliable potty habits.

Collar, Harness & Leash Acceptance: Comfortably acclimating your puppy to walking equipment.

Grooming Acceptance: Positive introduction to brushing teeth, nail trims, full-body brushing, ear cleaning, and bathing.

Extensive Socialization: Positive exposure to various people and friendly, vaccinated dogs.

Basic Obedience: Mastering "sit" and "sit-stay," "down" and "down-stay," and reliable "come when called."

This comprehensive 12-week course consists of half-hour weekly sessions conducted at your home and pet-friendly locations. Owners receive weekly homework to practice skills between sessions, ensuring consistent progress.

Beginning Level
For dogs 5 months of age and older
For dogs 5 months of age and older, this course is a fun and effective evidence-based program. Behav-N-Dogs' expert, Rachael Haddan, coaches owners on how to train their dog effectively.
This 12-week course, with one hour long weekly sessions, covers the following:

Sit & Down Stays: With mild distractions.

Coming When Called: Off-leash with mild distractions in fenced areas.

Loose Leash Walking: With mild distractions.
-
Ignoring Distractions: Learning to ignore other dogs and people during walks unless released to greet.

Sitting for Petting.

Yard and House Boundaries: Learning not to bolt when doors or gates are open, exiting only on cue.

Socialization: With people and other dogs.
Owners receive homework to practice between sessions, ensuring consistent progress.

Advanced Obedience
Behav-N-Dogs offers this advanced, evidence-based course for owners who want to teach their dogs more complex skills and behaviors.
To enroll, owners must have successfully completed Behav-N-Dogs Beginning Level Course or have received at least six individual coaching sessions.
This comprehensive 12-week program consists of one-hour weekly lessons, focusing on advanced skills for your dog:

Reliable Recall: Coming when called with increased distance and distractions.

Polite Leash Walking: Maintaining a loose leash on your left side, ignoring other dogs and people during walks unless released to greet.

Sitting for Petting: Consistently sitting politely when greeting others.
-
Boundary Training: Establishing strong yard and house boundaries, teaching your dog not to bolt when doors or gates are open, and exiting only on your cue.

Extended Stays: Mastering extended sit and down stays.
-
"Leave It" on Cue: Consistently leaving desired items alone when instructed.
-
Side-by-Side Activities: Running politely at your side while you ride a bike, skateboard, run, hike, snowboard, ski, or engage in similar activities.

Trick Training: Learning three to five fun tricks such as shake paw, roll over, high five, beg, bow, crawl, or walk backwards.
Owners receive weekly homework to practice between lessons, ensuring consistent progress and skill retention.

Owner-Trained Service Dog Support and Coaching
This is considered an owner-trained service dog coaching program for individuals who have one or more disabilities.
Behav-N-Dogs provides expert coaching for individuals with disabilities who wish to train their own service dog. This program is designed to empower owners to teach their dog specific tasks tailored to their individual needs.
Rachael Haddan, our expert trainer at Behav-N-Dogs, has successfully coached owners to train their dogs for a variety of crucial tasks, including:

Retrieval of dropped or lost items.

Opening and closing doors.
-
Providing stability support for owners with balance issues.
-
Interrupting anxious behaviors.
-
Delivering deep pressure therapy for anxiety or PTSD symptoms.
-
Guiding owners back to a car, home, or safe location for those with memory challenges.

Mastering public access manners.
-
Detecting high or low blood sugar levels.

Important Considerations: Behav-N-Dogs does not surrently offer board-and-train services for service dogs. All dogs must possess a stable temperament suitable for service work.
Program Structure
This comprehensive 16-week course focuses on service task training and public access skills. Each week includes one hour-long lesson, and owners receive homework to practice between sessions to ensure consistent progress.
To enroll in this program, participants must have successfully completed Behav-N-Dogs Advanced Obedience Course prior to beginning service dog training.
