Puppy Training

For puppies as young as 8 weeks of age

Basic Manners
For dogs 5 months of age and older
For dogs 5 months of age and older, this engaging, evidence-based course is designed to empower both you and your dog to succeed.
Led by Behav-N-Dogs’ expert trainer, Rachael Haddan, this program gives owners the knowledge, skills, and confidence to train their dog effectively using humane, science-backed methods. You’ll learn how and why training works—so you can create lasting results beyond the classroom.
This course includes 45-minute weekly sessions, where you’ll build clear communication, strengthen your partnership with your dog, and develop practical skills you can use in everyday life. Sessions focus on the following:

Sit & Down Stays: With mild distractions.

Coming When Called: Off-leash with mild distractions in fenced areas.

Loose Leash Walking: With mild distractions.

Ignoring Distractions: Learning to ignore other dogs and people during walks unless released to greet.

Advanced Skills


Behav-N-Dogs proudly offers this advanced, evidence-based course for owners who are ready to take their dog’s training to the next level.
Designed for dedicated teams, this program builds on foundational skills to develop more complex behaviors, stronger communication, and real-world reliability.
To enroll, owners must have successfully completed the Behav-N-Dogs Basic Manners Course or have participated in at least six individual coaching sessions, ensuring each dog enters the program prepared for advanced learning.
This comprehensive program features one-hour weekly lessons and focuses on developing advanced skills that enhance your dog’s confidence, responsiveness, and everyday success, including:

Reliable Recall: Coming when called with increased distance and distractions.

Polite Leash Walking: Maintaining a loose leash on your left side, ignoring other dogs and people during walks unless released to greet.

Sitting for Petting: Consistently sitting politely when greeting others.

Boundary Training: Establishing strong yard and house boundaries, teaching your dog not to bolt when doors or gates are open, and exiting only on your cue.

Extended Stays: Mastering extended sit and down stays.

"Leave It" on Cue: Consistently leaving desired items alone when instructed.
